Google Messages QR code key verification is now rolling out to users, bringing an extra layer of security to conversations. This new feature allows you to confirm that you’re truly communicating with the intended person by scanning a QR code instead of relying on the older, complicated 80-digit code method. With end-to-end encryption already built into RCS chats, this update makes the verification process more user-friendly, secure, and accessible to everyone. The process is straightforward. When you open a chat in Google Messages, head to the contact’s Details page from the app bar. Under the End-to-End Encryption section, you’ll now find a new option labeled “Verify encryption.” Instead of scrolling through a long string of numbers, the app presents a scannable QR code.
