Apple Launches Two Repair Programs in Canada
Apple Launches Two Repair Programs in Canada, giving customers and repair shops better access to genuine parts and tools. The Self Service Repair program and the Genuine Parts Distributor program are now officially available across the country.

First introduced in 2022, Apple’s Self Service Repair program allows customers to access genuine Apple parts, tools, and repair manuals. The program covers select iPhone, iPad, and Mac models, as well as accessories like the Studio Display and Beats Pill.
Apple notes that the initiative is designed for individuals with the technical skill to safely repair their own devices. This move could help Canadians extend the life of their Apple products without relying solely on service centers.
The Genuine Parts Distributor Program in Canada
Alongside Self Service Repair, Apple also rolled out the Genuine Parts Distributor program. This program supports independent repair shops that don’t have a direct partnership with Apple but still want to use original Apple components.
Shops in Canada can now source authentic iPhone and iPad parts — including batteries, displays, and cameras — through MobileSentrix, Apple’s authorized third-party distributor. The program had previously launched in the U.S. and Europe before expanding north.
Why This Matters for Canadians
By making both programs available, Apple is giving Canadians more options for device repair. Customers gain the flexibility to attempt repairs themselves, while independent shops can maintain quality standards using genuine Apple parts.
This expansion reflects Apple’s broader effort to balance device repairability, customer choice, and product reliability. With more access to official tools and parts, both individuals and businesses in Canada benefit from greater transparency in device maintenance.
