Uber Adds Women Driver Option for Female Riders in the U.S. Uber Women Driver Option Rolls Out in the U.S. Uber is finally launching a long-requested safety feature in the United States: the Uber women driver option . First introduced in Saudi Arabia in 2019, this feature allows female riders to request a woman driver through the app. After being tested and expanded across 40 countries including Canada, India, Brazil, and Mexico, Uber is now piloting the feature in three major U.S. cities—Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit.
