Waze 5.4 Update: Maps on Heads-Up Display for Select Vehicles

Waze is rolling out a new update on Android and iOS which brings support for showing your navigation map and other details via the heads-up display (instrument cluster) in some vehicles. A growing trend among new cars is to replace the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel with a display – often called a heads-up display – enabling more flexibility in what can be shown, including new features. One of those new features is showing navigation in the instrument cluster, a change that’s closer to the driver’s line of sight, and opens the other display to additional functions such as controlling music. Most vehicles only support showing navigation data through their own native infotainment systems, but a select few can pull data from apps on your phone. In an update rolling out now, Waze is adding support for this.
