The Space Development Agency (SDA) has taken a significant step towards revolutionizing space technology and national security. By selecting 19 companies to participate in its Hybrid Acquisition for Proliferated Low Earth Orbit (HALO) program, the SDA is laying the groundwork for a new era of space exploration and defense. The HALO Program: A Catalyst for Innovation The HALO program is designed to rapidly onboard new contractors for defense demonstration missions. Each of the 19 selected companies will receive an initial $20,000 to cover administrative expenses. This pre-approval process allows these companies to compete for future prototype missions supporting the SDA's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). The PWSA is a massive satellite constellation in low Earth orbit that will provide missile tracking and advanced communications capabilities for the Department of Defense (DOD).
