Audit Committee Vacancies at Attorney General 2026

The Office of the Attorney General has announced Audit Committee Vacancies for qualified and interested persons seeking appointment as Chairperson or members of the Audit Committee. The recruitment is for one Chairperson and four members. Applications must meet the stated requirements and be submitted by 7th September, 2026.

About the Audit Committee Vacancies

Pursuant to section 73(5) of the Public Finance Management Act 2012, CAP 412A, Public Finance Management (National Government) Regulations, 2015 Section 174(1) and the Guidelines for the establishment of Audit Committees in public entities vide Kenya Gazette Notice Vol. CXVIII No. 40 of 15th April 2016, the Office of the Attorney General invites applications from qualified and interested persons.

The available positions are:

• Chairperson – One position
• Members – Four positions

Requirements for Appointment

Chairperson

To be appointed as the Chairperson of the Audit Committee, applicants must be Kenyan Citizens and meet the stated requirements. A candidate must have one of the following:

1. A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
2. Knowledge and experience of not less than seven (7) years in audit and/or Financial Management/Accounting.
3. Be a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and in good standing.
4. Knowledge and experience in Risk Management.
5. Be a person of integrity and in compliance with requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Members

To be appointed a member of the Audit Committee, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
• Have work experience of not less than five (5) years in either Public or Private Sector.
• Be a member of a professional body and in good standing.
• Have knowledge in public service / government operations.
• Be a person of integrity and in compliance with requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

All interested applicants who meet the requirements should submit their applications together with:

• Copies of academic and professional certificates.
• Copy of Identity Card.
• Testimonials.

Hand delivery: Applications may be hand delivered to the Office of the Attorney General, CBK Pension Towers, 20th Floor, Harambee Avenue during working hours.

The deadline for receiving applications is 7th September, 2026.

Online application: Applications can be submitted through [email protected]. Applicants should send scanned copies of the required site documents together with their applications.

Shortlisted Candidates

Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce originals of their National Identity Cards, Academic and Professional Certificates and transcripts, Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Clearance from HELB, KRA, EACC and any Accredited Credit Reference Bureau during the interview.

Applicants should therefore retain the original documents required for verification if they are shortlisted.

Important Notes for Applicants

The Office of the Attorney General has provided the following additional information:

2. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
3. Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
4. The appointment to the Committee shall be for a period of three (3) years.
