According to SpotitEarly CEO Shlomi Madar, the idea is backed by science. “Dogs can be trained to sniff out diseases — especially cancer — in humans,” he told TechCrunch. Many people have even shared stories of their dogs sensing something was wrong long before a diagnosis was made.

From Military Training To Medical Breakthrough

Madar, who brings 15 years of experience in health and biotech, founded the company with three partners — including a former K9 unit commander. Their goal: to build a reliable, scalable cancer screening method that could revolutionize early detection.

Users can easily participate by collecting a simple breath sample at home and mailing it to SpotitEarly’s lab. There, 18 highly trained beagles analyze the sample. When a dog detects cancer-related particles, it signals by sitting — and the AI platform then confirms the result.
