Starting next month, Google Fi’s AI-enhanced audio feature will automatically filter out background noise and sharpen voice clarity. Whether you’re talking on a landline, an older device, or using a headset, the update promises more natural-sounding conversations.

The AI-driven system uses machine learning to identify and suppress distractions like wind, chatter, or street noise. Users who prefer the classic sound can toggle the feature off anytime in settings.

RCS Web Messaging Brings a Modern Chat Experience

Another big win for users: RCS web messaging is coming to Fi’s “Messages for Web.” This upgrade will make it easier to chat from your computer with full RCS support, including the ability to send high-resolution photos, videos, and read receipts.

The revamped interface is rolling out in December, offering a cleaner layout and better syncing between desktop and mobile conversations. This puts Google Fi ahead of several competitors who still rely on traditional SMS for web messaging.

Expanding Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ to Millions of New Locations

Google Fi’s Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ feature is also expanding. It now automatically connects users to premium, secure Wi-Fi networks in crowded areas such as airports, malls, and stores—completely free of charge.

Supported major airports like LAX, ORD, and JFK are part of the rollout, along with thousands of new public locations. Users will notice a small “W+” icon in their status bar whenever the feature is active. Each connection is encrypted, protecting online activity even on shared networks.

Personalized AI-Powered Summaries in the Google Fi App

To make billing and plan management simpler, the Google Fi app is getting personalized AI summaries. These explain monthly charges, recent changes, and suggest adjustments that could help save money in the future.

The summaries aim to make your plan easier to understand, replacing complex statements with clear, actionable insights.
