iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design Copied by Android Smartphone Maker
Chinese smartphone brand Vivo has sparked buzz after its latest update seemingly cloned Apple’s iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design. The company unveiled OriginOS 6, a new interface that looks strikingly similar to iOS 26 — from its translucent elements to its smooth, fluid animations.

In a demo video, the Vivo smartphone UI could easily be mistaken for iOS 26. The update features a Liquid Glass clock, rounded glass-like buttons, translucent notifications, and dynamic wallpapers that shift with a 2D-to-3D Spatial Scene effect — all key aspects of Apple’s Liquid Glass design language.
Even the Control Center and app folders bear an uncanny resemblance to Apple’s minimalist aesthetic. While Android skins often take inspiration from iOS, this version of OriginOS takes the imitation a step further.
Vivo’s Marketing Spin on the Design
Despite the visual similarities, Vivo insists its design is inspired by water and fluid motion. The company describes OriginOS 6 as offering “effortless motion built for the way you move,” with every swipe, scroll, and tap flowing smoothly.
Still, the iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design influence is unmistakable — from the translucency effects to the soft gradients that mimic Apple’s signature “liquid” interface.
A Growing Trend of iOS-Inspired Android UIs
This isn’t the first time an Android smartphone maker has been accused of mirroring Apple’s iOS design language. Over the years, several Android skins — from MIUI to ColorOS — have integrated iOS-like features such as Control Centers, notification styles, and dynamic wallpapers.
However, Vivo’s OriginOS 6 may be the boldest replication yet, echoing Apple’s new Liquid Glass design that debuted in iOS 26 earlier this year.
Vivo Eyes Global Expansion with iOS-Like Flair
While Vivo primarily sells its smartphones in China, India, and Southeast Asia, the company recently received certification for its Vivo X300 FE, signaling plans to enter the U.S. market. The timing of this design refresh — closely following Apple’s latest iOS release — could be a strategic move to appeal to users drawn to Apple’s premium design aesthetics.
Whether this resemblance is a tribute or a copy remains up for debate, but one thing is clear: the iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design has set a new visual standard across the smartphone industry, and Android makers are taking notes.
