What Are Recipes In Granola?
Granola’s new feature, Recipes, allows users to save customized prompts they can reuse again and again. To activate one, simply type “/” in the Granola chat and enter the recipe’s name.
This is especially useful for recurring tasks like summarizing meetings, drafting action points, or generating follow-up emails. By automating these steps, teams can save time and boost productivity.
How To Create And Use Recipes
Users can build their own Recipes by writing a prompt and choosing whether it applies to a single meeting or across multiple sessions. Granola also provides a guide to help you design effective prompts.
You’re not limited to personal use—Recipes can be shared with teammates, ensuring consistency across entire teams. Granola also offers a library of ready-made Recipes categorized into before, during, and after meetings.
Why Repeatable Prompts Matter
According to co-founder Chris Pedregal, many users previously copied transcripts from Granola into ChatGPT or Claude to run prompts. Now, with this feature, they can use the full meeting context directly inside Granola, reducing friction and improving results.
This positions Granola alongside other AI note-taking apps like Fireflies, Fathom, and Circleback. However, unlike those platforms that focus on post-meeting analysis, Granola’s repeatable prompts bring AI assistance into live meetings.
What’s Next For Granola?
Currently, Recipes work within the app and meeting transcripts. But Granola plans to expand integrations with other services, allowing Recipes to pull data from different sources for even more powerful automation.
With more than 10,000 tech and VC leaders already using Granola, the addition of repeatable prompts strengthens its position as one of the smartest AI meeting assistants in the market.
