Unlike PayPal Me—which lets people share a profile for payments—PayPal Links are unique, one-time links tied to specific transactions. This makes it easier to send or request money directly, whether it’s splitting dinner, paying a freelancer, or handling a quick purchase.
How PayPal Links Work
To use the new feature, customers open the PayPal app, enter the payment details, and generate a one-time link. This link can then be pasted into a text, email, or DM.
Each link is tied to a specific amount, making payments faster and more secure. If the recipient doesn’t claim it within 10 days, the link automatically expires. Senders can also issue reminders or cancel unused links.
Crypto Support Coming Soon
Perhaps the most exciting update is that PayPal Links will soon support crypto payments in the U.S. Users will be able to send Bitcoin, Ethereum, PYUSD, and other digital assets across PayPal, Venmo, and compatible crypto wallets.
