Augment Raises $85M to Disrupt Logistics with AI

Deliverr’s Founder Returns with Bold AI Logistics Play

AI logistics startup Augment, from Deliverr’s founder, raises massive $85M Series A — and it’s making waves across the supply chain world. Harish Abbott, who previously built and sold Deliverr to Shopify for $2.1 billion in 2022, is now betting big on artificial intelligence to automate some of logistics’ most repetitive tasks.

Abbott saw an industry bogged down by endless phone calls, emails, and spreadsheets. With Augment, his new venture, he aims to change that by introducing an AI-powered assistant, “Augie,” designed to handle the tedious side of freight management.

Augment’s Vision: Automation for Freight and Logistics

The $85 million Series A round, led by Redpoint with participation from 8VC, Autotech Ventures, and others, is a huge vote of confidence. What makes this even more striking is that Augment secured this funding just five months after coming out of stealth with a $25 million seed round.

Abbott believes Augie can act as a personal AI assistant for shippers, carriers, and brokers. “Freight and logistics is a massive industry filled with people who spend their days chasing emails, documents, and phone calls,” he explained. “Augie takes care of all that so humans can focus on relationships and negotiations.”

What Augie Can Do Today

Right now, Augie can already perform seven core tasks in logistics operations, including:

  • Collecting and reviewing pricing bids from trucking companies

  • Tracking shipments in real time

  • Building loads to maximize truck space

  • Gathering invoices and ensuring timely billing

  • Coordinating across multiple communication channels

Instead of relying on scattered messages across phone, email, Slack, SMS, or Telegram, Augie brings everything into one streamlined workflow. The result? Faster communication and fewer bottlenecks.

Growth Since Stealth Launch

While Augment has not disclosed its revenue numbers, Abbott revealed that the startup has already more than doubled its customer base since the seed round earlier this year. This early traction, combined with the $85 million funding boost, signals that AI in logistics isn’t just hype — it’s rapidly becoming a necessity.

Why This Matters for the Future of Supply Chains

The logistics sector has long been criticized for inefficiencies and outdated systems. By applying AI to core functions, Augment hopes to unlock productivity at scale, potentially transforming how freight is managed worldwide.

With its fresh funding, Augment is well-positioned to expand Augie’s capabilities and capture a growing demand for smarter, AI-driven logistics solutions.
