Litehaus Raises €1.46M to Disrupt Home Building With Modular Tech

Looking for a better way to build your dream home? Whether you're a landowner tired of endless delays or a developer seeking cost-efficient construction solutions, Litehaus is a name you’ll want to know. The European construction tech startup is on a mission to revolutionize how we build homes using modular construction, promising faster timelines, reduced costs, and sustainable results. With a recent €1.46 million pre-seed funding round, Litehaus is poised to shake up the real estate development and home construction industry across Europe and beyond.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Thibault Launay and his wife Simi, also a seasoned consultant and founder, Litehaus was born out of personal frustration. The couple’s attempt to build their dream home in Portugal turned into a nightmare—14 months of delays, 20% budget overruns, and coordination headaches with over 10 subcontractors. “If we’re struggling with this, so are millions of others,” said Thibault. That insight became the foundation for Litehaus.

So, what exactly does Litehaus do? Think of it as the Uber of construction. Litehaus offers an integrated platform that connects landowners and property developers with vetted professionals—architects, contractors, designers, and builders—while also providing tools to track project progress, manage costs, and coordinate schedules in real-time. This end-to-end construction solution is designed to eliminate the inefficiencies that plague traditional home-building.

The company’s focus on modular construction is a strategic move that sets it apart in the crowded construction technology space. “We’re building homes 30% cheaper, 40% faster, and 60% more sustainably,” Thibault explained. By using prefabricated materials and streamlined processes, Litehaus also boasts 90% less waste and 50% lower carbon emissions compared to conventional methods—appealing to the growing market for eco-friendly building solutions.

Competitors like Ginosko Modular and Flummerfelt in the U.S. and Schnelle Prefabs in India are pursuing similar goals, but Litehaus is carving out a niche in the European market, where innovation in construction tech still lags behind the U.S. The company has already integrated at least one U.S.-based construction partner and is actively exploring expansion opportunities.

Their recent €1.46M raise, co-led by the UK’s Cornerstone VC and Portugal’s Explorer Fund, with support from Luxembourg’s Claster Group and angel investor Pascal Levy, signals strong investor confidence. This funding will accelerate Litehaus’s mission to become Europe’s fastest-growing construction startup, expanding its network, refining its platform, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in residential construction.

As housing shortages and environmental concerns dominate headlines, Litehaus stands at the intersection of property tech, sustainable housing, and smart real estate investment. With high-growth potential and a scalable model, Litehaus is not just building homes—it’s building the future of how we live.
