When I first founded Brinc Drones back in 2017, my mission was simple but ambitious: to build technology that saves lives. At just 25 years old, I’ve now had the opportunity to raise $75 million in new funding to take that mission even further—thanks to a round led by Index Ventures and support from industry leaders like Motorola Solutions.

I dropped out of college because I believed so strongly in the potential of drones to make a real-world impact. That vision turned into Brinc, a Seattle-based company that’s now becoming a staple in emergency response across the U.S. From police departments to search and rescue teams, our drones are transforming how first responders operate—especially in areas difficult to reach with traditional vehicles.
What Makes Brinc Drones Different?
We’re not just another drone company. While I did have a brief internship at DJI years ago, I founded Brinc to do things differently. We focus on domestic manufacturing, privacy-first policies, and drones that can do more than just fly. Our systems can break windows for SWAT access, deliver emergency medical devices, and even enter buildings autonomously in high-risk scenarios.
With increasing regulations against Chinese-made drones, our U.S.-built systems are in higher demand than ever.
$75 Million to Scale and Innovate
This latest funding brings our total capital to $157.2 million. It’s a big leap from our Series B round in 2022, where we raised $55 million. While I can’t share our exact current valuation, I can say confidently that it’s an “up-round” from last year’s $300 million estimate, as reported by Bloomberg.
Having Index Ventures lead this round, alongside new investment from Motorola Solutions, is huge for us. Motorola powers many 911 call centers across the U.S., and our new strategic alliance means Brinc drones can now be dispatched directly from those centers—instantly and autonomously—if cleared by Motorola’s AI system.
Competing with Industry Giants
We know we’re not the only players in this field. Competitors like Flock Safety (valued at $7.5B) and Skydio (valued at $2.2B) are making strong moves too. But I see plenty of room in the market—especially since Chinese companies still dominate the commercial drone space globally.
Brinc stands out with unique capabilities tailored specifically to law enforcement and emergency response. We’re building tools that go beyond surveillance—we're delivering tactical advantages when seconds count.
The Future of Public Safety Technology
Our goal at Brinc is simple: Save lives with smart, safe, and effective technology. This new capital lets us double down on R&D, expand our market reach, and roll out new features that can make a critical difference in real-time emergencies.
We're grateful for the trust our investors, partners, and public safety clients place in us every day. There’s still so much work to be done—but with this new funding, we’re ready to scale our impact across the country and beyond.
