Google Home App Bug Repeatedly Asks to Set Up Nest Cam Features for Nest Hub Max

If you’ve been using the Google Home app recently, you might have encountered a frustrating issue: a pop-up that repeatedly asks you to “Set up new Nest Cam features for Nest Hub Max.” You’re not alone. It seems that many users have been facing this glitch, even if they’ve already set up their Nest Cam.

What’s Happening with the Google Home App?

Back in late 2024, Google started rolling out support for Nest Hub Max’s built-in Nest Cam within the Google Home app. As part of the update, users were prompted to move their Nest Hub Max’s camera from the Nest app to the Home app, similar to what Google did with other older Nest Cam models. However, this feature isn’t working as intended for some users.

The Unwanted Pop-Up Keeps Appearing

Many users, including myself, have been noticing this repetitive pop-up within the last two weeks. It's not just me, either. According to reports from users on Reddit and even Twitter/X, this bug has been affecting people for much longer. The issue appears to be happening for individuals who have already moved their Nest Hub Max camera over to the Google Home app, meaning they should not be seeing this prompt anymore.

What’s Causing the Bug?

At the moment, it’s unclear exactly why the Google Home app continues to display this message. The app is supposed to prompt only users who haven’t yet moved their cameras over to the Home app, so it’s likely that the bug is triggered by some glitch in the system.

With so many users affected by this, I’m confident that Google will address this bug with an update soon. Although there’s no official timeline yet, it’s only a matter of time before a fix rolls out to resolve this annoying issue.
