Google is quietly rolling out one of its more interactive Discover features—“your space”—to a wider range of Android devices, and I just spotted it landing on both the Pixel Tablet and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This small but meaningful update significantly enhances the utility of the Discover feed, which is often overlooked for its real potential in delivering personalized, glanceable content.
Image:GoogleFor those unfamiliar, this “space” carousel sits at the top of the Google Discover feed and presents widget-style cards. While Google hasn’t given it an official name, “your space” is what many of us in the community have started calling it. You’ll find cards for a variety of useful categories like:
- Weather and Air Quality
- TV & Movies
- Games (shoutout to the recent "Games by Google" addition)
- Finance
- Shopping
- Sports
- Updates from previous searches
- Sunrise & Sunset
- The increasingly interesting Daily Listen podcast
I’ve been following this feature for a while, and it’s good to see it finally getting broader support. As of Google app beta version 16.12, the carousel now appears on more Android devices beyond just Pixels. I tested it on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and noticed a fully functional carousel—though, curiously, the Pixel Tablet still doesn't support the Daily Listen podcast player. Tapping on it simply does nothing.
This latest expansion also brings subtle but smart UI tweaks. The updated Daily Listen card now highlights the first podcast topic instead of just displaying a date. Personally, I think this change is long overdue—it makes the card feel more intentional and more likely to drive engagement.
Functionally, the carousel comes in both single and double-line formats depending on the information density, which makes the experience feel clean and non-intrusive. It feels like Google is finally leaning into turning Discover into something more useful than just a news scroll.
That said, it’s still baffling why features like this take so long to roll out to tablets. It reinforces the persistent issue of Android’s tablet app ecosystem lagging behind. Hopefully, this rollout signals a more consistent approach going forward.
I’m actually excited about where Google Discover is heading. These glanceable, interactive cards can be the future of how we passively stay informed. With Google pushing Material You and smart content layers, it’s about time Discover got the same love.
If you're on the latest beta of the Google app and own a foldable or a tablet, keep an eye out for this update. It's a small touch—but one that makes your daily phone or tablet experience more thoughtful and personalized.
