Google is expected to release the Pixel 9a later this week, but the leaks haven’t stopped as the device has now received the customary YouTube unboxing which has also seemingly confirmed that the modem inside isn’t on par with the rest of the Pixel 9 series. Image:Google YouTuber Sahil Karoul obtained an early Pixel 9a unit in Dubai – the “Iris” purple variant no less – which they then fully unboxed. As expected, Google is using the same packaging style for the Pixel 9a as the rest of the Pixel 9 series, without a ton in the box. There’s a SIM tool, a USB-C cable, and some documentation. The video also clearly shows off the matte finish of the “Iris” color variant, both on the back of the device and on the side rails too. The video notes that the Pixel 9a is using a Tensor G4 with 8GB of RAM, and also shows that rumors of a lesser modem were likely true.
