Gemini Live Rolls Out Astra Camera and Screen Sharing on Android
As promised at MWC earlier this month, Google’s rollout of Project Astra-powered camera and screen sharing capabilities to Gemini Live is now underway. Image: Google  There’s one report so far of an Android user activating the Gemini overlay and seeing a new “Share screen with Live” button above the existing “Ask about screen” (screenshot) suggestion chip and Ask Gemini field. You share your entire screen (with single app sharing unavailable).  This user also has access to the new real-time camera capabilities that let you interact with the world. That is accessed by opening the full Gemini Live interface and starting a video stream. There should be a button in the bottom-right corner to switch to your front-facing camera. It makes sense that Google is slowly rolling this out and ramping up availability. This is not yet live on the devices we checked today.
