Amazon is making a significant move toward achieving its climate goals by investing in advanced nuclear technology. Following Google’s recent deal to buy electricity from advanced nuclear reactors, Amazon announced three strategic agreements to support the development of small modular reactors (SMRs). These reactors, which are smaller and more efficient than traditional nuclear power plants, offer a carbon-free energy solution that could help Amazon and other big tech companies meet their environmental sustainability targets.
