The Electrician carries out electrical installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair work in accordance with the latest applicable BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations. The role covers domestic and industrial electrical installations within the BATUK estate, including SSFAs.

Key duties

• Conduct minor domestic and industrial electrical installation work in accordance with the applicable BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
• Carry out routine inspection, servicing and maintenance of domestic and industrial electrical installations and white goods.
• Review maintenance records to confirm that electrical infrastructure and equipment remain compliant.
• Make defective electrical appliances safe.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment.
• Test completed products, components and assemblies for operation, function and accuracy.
• Read and interpret data and other relevant materials for inspection and testing purposes.
• Produce simple installation drawings, specifications and material quantities.

The Mason undertakes masonry, construction, refurbishment and maintenance work within BATUK facilities.

Key duties

The role includes masonry and remodelling work, reading blueprints and drawings, calculating materials, laying bricks and stones, applying mortar, operating mixers, saws and drills, restoring masonry structures, inspecting repair requirements, estimating labour and materials, erecting scaffolding and ladders, maintaining tools and PPE, keeping worksites safe and tidy, advising senior colleagues on alternative techniques, providing guidance to labourers and following health and safety requirements.

The Painter handles painting, decoration and finishing duties across BATUK facilities.

Key duties

The GE Technical Storeman receives, issues, stores and maintains tools, equipment and construction materials used by the GE Department.

Key duties

Responsibilities include procuring and distributing materials, receiving and checking deliveries, identifying long-lead items, organising returns, determining storage methods, maintaining stock identification and rotation, inspecting stock, reporting damaged items, conducting stock checks and audits, arranging calibration of tools and equipment, maintaining records, operating Prom PCT for infrastructure stores accounting, escorting suppliers and contractors, working at other BATUK locations, undertaking short periods at austere locations and responding to emergency call-backs.

Key duties

Responsibilities include carpentry construction and remodelling, producing method statements and risk assessments, using manual and power tools, operating and maintaining woodworking machinery, operating lathes, drill presses, sanders, shapers and planing machines, stain-grade trim work, hanging doors, installing door hardware, setting windows, reading blueprints and technical drawings, erecting scaffolding or ladders, maintaining PPE and equipment, securing materials, returning unused materials to stores, responding to emergency call-backs and complying with applicable regulations and Codes of Practice.

The Generator Mechanic handles inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of non-vehicle-mounted mechanical plant, generators, machinery and related equipment.
