Duties and Responsibilities
The Quantitative Field Interviewers will undertake several responsibilities during the training and data collection period.
Their duties include:
- Committing to attend all days of training and data collection.
- Obtaining and documenting informed consent from study participants before interviews.
- Listing all existing structures and rentable rooms in the study sites.
- Conducting and recording all interviews held with respondents using tablets.
- Participating in daily debrief meetings.
- Acting as custodians of APHRC data collection equipment during field work.
- Observing safeguarding procedures throughout the data engagement.
- Undertaking any other related activity assigned by the supervisor during the contract period.
The role requires applicants to be available for the full-time project period and to follow the required procedures when interacting with study participants and handling research equipment.
Requirements for Quantitative Field Interviewers
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements provided by APHRC.
To qualify, applicants must have:
- A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C Plain.
- Experience in electronic data capture methods, such as SurveyCTO, and devices such as tablets.
- Attention to detail to ensure the correctness of all data entered.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Availability to work full-time on the project for the duration.
- Residency in Nairobi County.
Previous experience working in Korogocho and Viwandani is an added advantage.
