Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage KTDA’s corporate image, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and internal communication.
- Develop and implement the organization’s corporate communication strategy.
- Align communication initiatives with KTDA’s strategic objectives.
- Position KTDA as the leading tea value chain organization.
- Protect and strengthen the company’s corporate reputation.
- Monitor public perception and recommend appropriate communication responses.
- Develop and manage effective crisis communication plans.
- Coordinate communication from the Chief Executive Officer.
- Promote employee engagement through internal communication initiatives.
- Develop communication programmes targeting stakeholders including tea farmers, county governments, regulators, and other partners.
- Develop, implement, and enforce KTDA brand standards.
- Manage corporate publications.
- Provide leadership in website management, digital communication, social media strategy, online campaigns, and reputation management.
- Develop print communication materials and branding strategies for employees.
- Coach and supervise communication staff.
- Prepare and distribute communication materials explaining company policies and organizational positions.
- Prepare departmental budgets and ensure effective budget control.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations.
- At least four (4) years of management-level experience.
- Membership in PRSK.
