What’s new? Google makes it easier to access AI Mode in Chrome
Google is rolling out a dedicated AI Mode shortcut right under the search bar on Chrome mobile. Previously tucked away, AI Mode is now just one tap away, helping users enter an AI-powered search session instantly.
The update is live in the U.S. and is expanding to more than 160 countries, including India, Indonesia, Brazil, and Japan, supporting languages like Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.
Why is Google making AI Mode easier to find?
By making Chrome’s AI Mode more accessible, Google hopes users will choose its deep-search assistant over rivals such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search and Perplexity AI. With AI Mode now supporting more languages and agentic features—including booking event tickets or salon appointments—Google is positioning Chrome as a smart, task-driven mobile assistant.
