The new countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, and Vietnam.

In key markets like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Pakistan, users can pay in local currencies. Elsewhere, the plan costs around $5 in USD, depending on local taxes.

Enhanced Features With ChatGPT Go

ChatGPT Go offers higher daily limits for messages, image generation, and file or image uploads compared to the free plan. It also doubles memory capacity, enabling more personalized and context-aware responses.

These enhancements make the Go plan ideal for students, professionals, and creators looking for a low-cost yet robust AI experience.

Rapid Growth Across Asia

OpenAI reports a fourfold increase in weekly active users in Southeast Asia since the initial rollout. The plan first launched in India in August, followed by Indonesia in September, doubling the number of paid subscribers in India.

The expansion highlights OpenAI’s ambition to compete with major tech players like Google in providing affordable AI tools to emerging markets.

Local Payments for Seamless Access

By enabling payments in local currencies, OpenAI ensures a frictionless experience for users in select countries. This approach addresses one of the key barriers to adoption—currency conversion and international payment issues.

OpenAI’s affordable ChatGPT Go plan expands to 16 new countries in Asia, making it easier than ever for users across the continent to access premium AI features without breaking the bank.
